Artist’s Statement:
As a multi-disciplinary artist, I toy with lights, music, and audio tapes to convey fantasy worlds riddled with raw scenarios of reality.
Drawing from personal experiences, cultural norms, and the bio-psycho-social theory (the study of biological, mental, and social factors and its contribution on human development), together, helps to set the storyline foundation in my [film and theater production] work. The romanticizition of hopes and aspirations in life allows me to fabricate immersive experiences centered upon a widespread commonality:
desiring the idealized.
Such counterfeit experiences are also supported with visual elements like “3D” (life sized) paintings and found objects; where I spend time blurring the lines between the surreal and the tangible. Keywords like additions, conformity, sacred beliefs, and close-knit environments structures a theme in which I produce contents around the impact of these factors.
Ultimately, what price are you willing to pay at the expense of having everything you crave?
